Jennifer Aniston opened up about her difficult childhood.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine for its November edition, the Friends The star opened up about the terrible divorce of her parents, John Aniston and Nancy Dow, which left her alone.
Jennifer admitted that she felt like a “pawn” as her parents tried to settle their scores evenly during the difficult time. She wasn’t a priority for them.
The Hollywood star also mentioned that at the time her parents divorced, there wasn’t much awareness about how to take care of children during the separation.
For the uninitiated, Jennifer was only nine years old when her parents separated.
“Their divorce was not amicable in any way,” Jennifer told the outlet, “It was a time when there wasn’t a lot of awareness of how to behave for the sake of the child.”
“That was the least of it [my parents’] concerns,” he continued, “It was more like, how could they hurt each other? And I was just a pawn.”
As a result of her childhood situations, Jennifer had to go to therapy.
Elsewhere in the chat, he also admitted that he had to undergo multiple therapies to avoid “attacks.”
Additionally, Jennifer also talked about her parents’ personalities, that her mother and father were “ridiculously funny people” and that she “laughed a lot.”
