Jeremy Strong is a new member of the jury of the competition of the Cannes Film Festival. To choose a winner, the jury had 21 films in the pool.
He described his feelings about being part of a group as an honor, saying: “I feel immensely inspired by what I have seen here. It has been so stimulating, and this type of cumulative account of the work that I will take with me.”
The 46 -year -old continued: “This has been a really wonderful experience, an experience really connected to these people: it is like the” conclave “with champagne. It is really great.”
Juliette Binoche headed the jury along with the succession star, Halle Berry, Payal Kapadia, Hong Sansoo, Alba Rohrwacher, Leïla Slimani, Dieudo Hamadi and Carlos Reygadas were part of that.
Meanwhile, the jury gave Palma de Oro to Jafar Panahi, it was just an accident. The president of the group explained the decision at the press conference: “It is very human and political at the same time because it comes from a complicated, politically speaking country.”
She continued: “When we saw the movie, she really stood out. The film arises from a feeling of resistance, survival, which is absolutely necessary today. So we thought it was important to give this movie the Paramount award.”
“Art will always win. What is human will always win. Our creative impulse can transform the world,” Juliette concluded.
