JI Professor Khurshid passes in the United Kingdom


Professor Khurshid Ahmad, former deputy director of Jamaat-E-Islami (JI) and a renowned Islamic economist, died in Leicester, the United Kingdom, at the age of 93, confirmed the spokesman for the party on Sunday.

An outstanding scholar and former senator, Ahmad was a nearby associate of the founder of JI, Syed Abul a’la Maududi. Throughout the decades, he wrote several books and was widely respected for his contributions to the Islamic economy and socio -political thinking.

“Professor Khurshid Ahmad was one of the pioneer thinkers of the Islamic economy and an institution in itself,” the party said in a statement.
