The American senator Jim Banks, a Republican of Indians, asked the WNBA and the Indiana Fover to apologize to fever fans after the investigation of the League failed to find evidence to corroborate the accusations of racial comments aimed at Angel Reese during a recent game.
The League investigated the accusations involving the Chicago sky Star last month after a May 17 game organized by fever.

“The WNBA undertakes to promote a safe and inclusive environment for all and will continue to be attentive when enforcing our code of fans behavior.”
The sky and Fever Declarations published after the investigation of the League, but the Republican senator of the United States Jim Banks believes that all parties involved, especially fever, owe an apology to fans.
“(Reese) accused the base of Indiana fever fans of being racist. “You didn’t do me with Dan Dakich.”

WNBA research finds no evidence of hateful comments towards Angel Reese
“Those are horrible accusations. They were not true. Fans were not shouting racial insults towards Angel Reese or opposite players. I mean, where is Caitlin Clark? Where is Indiana’s fever? Where is the WNBA saying that research? There should be no investigation. The accusations were false. Where is the apology? It is disappointing. ”
It is not clear if Reese notified the WNBA to promote research. Sky’s chief coach Tyler Marsh learned about the reports “when everyone else did.” However, Reese has said in the past that fever and Iowa fans have been racist with her.
“It is very degrading to our state and for the fan base to go through something like that. The least they can do is apologize to fans,” Banks added. “That is the type of garbage that is thrown all the time.”

Before the beginning of the 2025 season, the WNBA did not launch space for hatred, described as “a multidimensional platform designed to combat hatred and promote respect in all the spaces of the WNBA.” The initiative includes “unified messaging” during games and through the content of social networks and the use of technology with AI to monitor social networks activity.
