The training fields opened through the NFL last week. But at the end of this week, the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles chargers will meet in Canton, Ohio, to officially begin the preseason.
On Tuesday, the chief coach of the Chargers, Jim Harbaugh, confirmed Trey Lance as the head of the Opening of the exhibition on Thursday. Lance was the third general selection in the NFL 2021 draft, but the first seasons of his professional football career have been turbulent.

Harbaugh, who enters his second season as a chief coach in Los Angeles, also told reporters that Lance will take snapshots in the third quarter of the game against the Lions.

“I want to get experience in the Trey Lance game,” said Throuch.
Lance agreed a one -year contract with the Chargers in the low season after a period of two years with the Dallas Cowboys.

He was changed to the cowboys in 2023, but was relegated to third place in the depth table. It was considered a healthy scratch for each game that season.
The 26 -year -old appeared in four games with the cowboys. He took the field as a starter for one of those games after Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush suffered respective injuries.

Lance ended the 2024 season with 266 air yards, without touchdowns and an interception. He began his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers.
The former Clemson Campo Marshal, DJ Uiagalelei, relieves Lance in Thursday’s game is expected. Many NFL teams choose to keep their headlines out of the first preseason game. Keeping in line with that approach, the senior marshal of the Chargers, Justin Herbet, will sit on Thursday.
The Annual Fame Hall coincides with the induction ceremonies for members of the last class. It also gives participating clubs an additional opportunity to evaluate their respective teams. All other NFL teams will play three preseason contests, while the Chargers and Lions will conclude the exhibition season with four games under their belts.
