The first three quarters were not beautiful for the Marshal of the Vikings of the Minnesota, JJ McCarthy, in their first NFL beginning on Monday night, but everything that matters is what happens in the fourth quarter.
McCarthy led the Vikings in an exciting return, scoring 21 points in the last quarter to defeat the Chicago Bears, 27-24, on the way to start the 2025 season of the NFL.
Last season, McCarthy was on the sidelines with an injury in the meniscus that ended the season during the preseason. He observed how Sam Darnold brought the Vikings to a record of 14-3, but McCarthy knew that he was going to this campaign that was his turn to do the work in Quarterback in the dynamic offensive of the chief coach Kevin O’Connell.

McCarthy was having some problems to start this game, since the defense of the Bears, led by the new coordinator Dennis Allen, was writing the right pressures to run over the young woman called the signal. McCarthy, after receiving a generous call of defensive pass interference, threw a perfectly placed deep ball to the Aaron Jones corridor for leadership, 20-17, after a successful two-point conversion.
The dagger in this victory behind was a nine -play trip that ended with a 14 yards touchdown running for nothing less than McCarthy, who kept the ball with a third and 1 reading option of the 14 -yard line of Chicago. He made his way to the annotation zone and let a roar with his vikings teammates, all snuggled around him when the score was 27-17 with 2:53 remaining in the game.
Williams reached such a hot start, running in a touchdown in the opening impulse of the Bears game. But the offensive of the Bears, which is expected to be updated with Johnson’s game game in its place given its success with the Detroit Lions, sprayed after that. They only gathered a field goal in the second quarter, while the kicking Cairo Santos lost another in the room.

The other TouchDown scored for the Bears was a pick-six launched by McCarthy in the third quarter that, at that time, seemed to be a total murderer due to how bad he was playing.
But it was Williams that needed running late to return to the game, and finally he could find the score again. The Bears drought ended with Rome Odunze open for the score of a yard to reduce the deficit to three for Chicago with two minutes to play.
The Bears’s defense was able to force the Vikings of three and outside, but there was not enough game clock for a miracle while the Vikings celebrated their very close victory along the way.
The first start of his McCarthy career ended with a line of 13 by 20 for 143 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. For the Bears, Williams was 21 of 35 for 211 yards with his touchdown pass and his score by land. He led the Bears with 58 yards by land in just six haules, while D’Ars Swift had 53 yards in 17 touches in the field. DJ Moore also had 70 yards in just three receptions.
