Joey Chestnut will compete in 2025 Hot Pearritos Eating Contest from Nathan

Joey Chestnut announced Monday that he will return to the contest of Eating Hot Nathan dogs next month after his absence of the event in 2024.

Chestnut, who has the competition record for most hot dogs eaten with 76 in 2021, wrote on social networks that he and the organizers of the contest found a common land in their sponsorships. The Chestnut Association with Impossible Foods caused a problem for the famous year last year of Nathan, and kept the champion out of the competition.

On July 4, he will return to Coney Island.

“I am delighted to return to the famous Food Contest of Hot Dogs of July 4 of Nathan. This event means the world for me. It is a precious tradition, a celebration of American culture and a large part of my life,” Chestnut wrote in X.

“While I have associated and continue associated with a variety of companies, including some in plant -based space, those relationships were never a conflict with my love for hot dogs. To be clear: Nathan’s is the only hot dog company with which I have worked.

“I respect that there were differences in interpretation, but I am grateful that we have been able to find common land. I am excited to return to the Roney Island stage, do what I live to do and celebrate on July 4 with hot dogs in my hands! Stay with hunger!”

Last year, Chestnut ate 83 Hot Dogs at a special Netflix event called “Ininfundaa Beef” when he faced his competitive rival Takeru Kobayashi.

It was the Hotones Hot Dogs ever eaten in the history of competitive food without being submerged in water.

Patrick Bertoletti won the competition last year with 58 Hot Dogs eaten in 10 minutes.
