John Candy’s son, Chris, threw some Hearts, sharing the probable reaction of his late father to the documentary, John Candy: I liked it.
In a recent conversation with People In a special projection of the next documentary on the life of John Candy at the Montalban Theater in Los Angeles, the son of the late comedian shared his thoughts about what his father would have seen the film.
“I think he would feel uncomfortable, but this is a guy who doesn’t like to go to his own films, Chris told The Outlet.
Candy’s son, 41, added: “However, I hope that the John Candy of 2025 would have worked enough to be well with himself, and then I know that he loved himself, but yes, I think that in that early phase, he would probably have felt a bit uncomfortable with everything today.”
John Candy: I liked it which is produced by Ryan Reynolds, is ready to launch in Amazon Prime video October 10.
Chris also revealed that he learned a lot about his father and his life during the cinema.
“I think what caught my attention was the influence that his comedy had on the comedians I grew up [watching]”Chris shared.
“I loved Conan O’Brien, Mr. Show with Bob and David, children in the hall. Listening to Conan O’Brien to talk about what a direct influence was like, my father on him, and then to be a fan of him, to see the connective fabric that my father had within the kingdom of comedy was really an overwhelming feeling.”
