John Cena sprouted about his role as superhero in Pacemaker.

In a recent conversation with People for the cover history of his week, Cena, known for more than 20 years as a powerful “Superman” figure in the WWE ring, opened on his role in the HBO Max series that he has helped explore a new side of himself.

“This has changed my life,” he said about playing the main character. “It is a great show that is more than action. It is a love story. It is a comedy in the workplace.”

Sharing his deep connection with his team in the series, he said. “We know that we are the long shots. That scene at the end of season 1, where they send the real heroes to save the day and we have already saved the day and make the heroes walk, but we have to go through the heroes to get all the advertising and we are like, ‘F *** You, guys’,’ Those are we.”
