According to the reports, the Legend of the Denver Broncos, John Elway, is having difficulty dealing with the death of his friend, commercial partner and a lifetime agent, Jeff Sperbeck, who was killed in a golf cart accident earlier this year.

Sperbeck died days after falling from a golf cart that Elway was driving in April. The two had been together since Elway’s days, and Sperbeck helped lead the position to start the wine business of the former field marshal, 7cellars.

“John is not dealing with loss and accident. He has been really upset and retired,” a source told Page Six in a story published on Tuesday.

Elway avoids the charges for the death of Sperbeck.

Riverside County, California, Sheriff Chad Bianco told 9News in Denver that the fatal golf cart accident was nothing more than a “tragic accident” and that research on death has been completed.

“It ended. We have talked to everyone involved and we found nothing new. There was nothing criminal, it was what we have been saying all the time that was a tragic accident,” Bianco told the station.

An Elway lawyer told page six that this was a “terrible situation for all.”

“We always knew that John had done nothing wrong, however, that does not diminish sadness,” added the lawyer.

After the death of Sperbeck, Elway issued a statement.

“I am absolutely devastated and disconsolate by the death of my close friend, business partner and agent Jeff Sperbeck,” Elway said in a statement, through ESPN. “There are no words to truly express the deep sadness I feel with the sudden loss of someone who has meant a lot to me.

“My heart and my deepest sympathies go out with Jeff’s wife, Cori; her children Carly, Sam and Jackson; and all who knew him and loved him. Jeff will be deeply surprised by loyalty, wisdom, friendship and love that brought my life and the life of many others.”
