Joint Pak-US strike on drug trafficking

Pakistan and the United States agreed on Friday to make the exchange of information more effective in the fields of counterterrorism and counter-mirror in another sign of depth of security cooperation between the two parties.

The development occurred during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and the US coordinator for the contracterrorism Gregory Logerfo in the Interior Ministry.

Interior Minister of Tallal Chaudhry, the United States ambassador, Natalie Baker and the Federal Interior Secretary, were also present on the occasion.

An official brochure issued here by the Ministry of Interior said that during the meeting, both parties agreed to even more improve the relations of united Pakistan-states, especially in the areas of the counterterrorism, border security and the antarctica.

They also agreed that the exchange of information is more effective in the fields of the counterterrorism and counter-mirror.

Naqvi said that since the administration of President Donald Trump entered into power, the relations of Pakistan-United States have improved significantly.

He praised President Trump’s sincere efforts for global peace and pointed out that transparency, mutual trust and cooperation are the distinctive stamps of the bilateral relationship. He stressed that this is an excellent opportunity to even more strengthen bilateral relations in all areas.

The Interior Minister added that the anti -terrorism dialogue will help create a joint strategy. He described the decision of the United States to designate the prohibited blade and prohibited foreign terrorist organizations from the Majeed Brigade for a commendable step, expressing the hope that the cooperation of Pakistan-United States will throw positive results in the elimination of terrorism.

Gregory Logerfo recognized the geostrategic importance of Pakistan. He also expressed condolences for the loss of lives in terrorist attacks.

The meeting occurred in the context of a recent movement of the United States to designate Bla and Majeed Brigade as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO). The measure was a great diplomatic victory for Pakistan.

Earlier this week, Pakistan and the United States promised to deepen anti-terrorism cooperation, with a renewed approach in addressing terrorist groups such as Bla, ISIS-KHORASAN and TTP.

But what was significant in the joint statement issued after the last round of the anti -terrorism dialogue held in Islamabad was that it was for the first time that the United States agreed to work together with Pakistan to address groups such as the forbidden blade.

The two countries regularly have the anti -terrorism dialogue, but never before the joint declaration mentioned terrorist groups such as Bla.
