Jordan Chiles made a statement addressing his recent comments that were questioned on social media, related to his appearance on “Dancing With The Stars.”

“For everyone wondering what I meant by a perfect score, I mean a perfect 40 in gymnastics terms! Yes, I got a perfect score on one test, but not on all the tests at the same time,” Chiles wrote.

“If you think about it, every judge gives a 10 for perfection, which is the same as a 10 in an event, so if there are 3 or 4 judges and they all give a 10, then it’s a perfect score, the same as if I got a 10 in each event at the same time, it’s a perfect score lol. Sorry for the confusion everyone! But I really love each and everyone; it’s crazy to say I’m in the FINAL of [Dancing With The Stars]”.

Chiles’ original comments came in an interview with People, when he said “That’s my first perfect score on anything,” regarding the 30/30 score on his routine with Ezra Sosa that he received on November 18.

However, fans questioned why he said this even though he earned several perfect 10 scores for his college team, UCLA. Chiles has earned a total of three perfect 10s, two on floor exercises and one on uneven bars, already in her college career at UCLA.

But Chiles suggests that, by his standards, a perfect score is 40, not 10.

On March 10, 2026, the UCLA team from Chile will face Stanford and its Romanian rival Ana Barbosu.

But before that, Chiles will look to win it all in the “Dancing With The Stars” finale next week.
