JPMorgan’s brokerage clientele increased their bets on bitcoin in the third quarter, and the bank, in a regulatory filing on Friday, disclosed ownership of 5.284 million shares of the BlackRock Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) as of September 30.
Those shares were worth $343 million at the end of the quarter. At the end of the second quarter, the bank owned 3.2 million shares worth $302.6 million.
Earlier this week, the bank issued a bullish note on bitcoin, suggesting the price could reach $170,000 within 12 months from the current $102,000.
Correction (November 7, 2025, 19:10 UTC): An earlier version of this story suggested that the bank held IBIT on its own.
