Islamabad:

Most of the Judge of the Supreme Court, Judge Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, provided oath as the president of the interim justice of Pakistan on Saturday, in an unprecedented ceremony held on the day of the Supreme Court in the Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court.

The oath was administered by Judge Ayesha A. Malik, who marked a rare event in which the sworn of the country’s main judicial office took place outside the Federal Capital and on a holiday.

The ceremony was attended by the judges of the Supreme Court, Judge Shahid Waheed, Judge Aamer Faooq, Judge Shahid Bilal Hassan and Judge Ali Baqar Najafi. The general lawyer Punjab Amjad Pervez, together with several high -ranking members of the legal fraternity, was also present.

Judge Mansoor Ali Shah will serve as the President of the Interim Justice until June 10, during the absence of the President of the Supreme Court Yahya Afridi, who is currently in Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj. Judge Isa is expected to resume his duties on his return next week.
