The open receiver of Kansas City Chiefs, Rashee Rice, learned his punishment for his role in a vehicle accident in the Dallas area last year.
ESPN reported Thursday that a judge in Dallas County sentenced Rice to probation and a period of one month in jail. The period of probation is expected to last five years, according to the report.
Royce West, Rice’s lawyer, told Fox 4 Dallas Rice, declared himself guilty for serious crimes on the road and a serious crime accident that caused body injuries.

The accident occurred in March 2024. According to multiple reports, a vehicle was traveling approximately 119 mph when it collided with another car that also traveled through the speed limit.
Rice had already paid approximately $ 115,000 in restitution to cover the medical expenses of the victims, Fox 4 Dallas reported.

The League has waited for the legal process to reach its conclusion before taking disciplinary measures against rice. The judge’s ruling could advance the NFL disciplinary process. If rice is suspended, games would probably be lost during the 2025 season, Espn reported.

Rice was also given a deferred award, racing the way for a dismissal of cases by successfully completing their probation.
Rice issued a statement shortly after the accident saying that he was cooperating with the authorities.
“Today, I met with Dallas PD researchers regarding the accident on Saturday,” Rice said in a statement in April 2024. “I assume all part in this matter and continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to all those affected in the accident on Saturday.”
Dashcam’s images obtained by Fox 4 Dallas showed a Corvette and Lamborghini accelerating along the left lane before barrel in a gray car and other vehicles in front of them.

Later, KDFW reported that a lawyer who represents the classic lifestyle confirmed that RICE rented the company’s SUV Lamborghini. According to the classic lifestyle policy, Rice was the only authorized driver of the vehicle during the rental duration.
Dallas Police also told Pak Gazette Digital occupants in Corvette and Lamborghini and could not exchange information. Nor did they verify to see if someone was injured or needed help.
RICE lost the last 13 games of the 2024 season due to a knee injury. The receiver underwent posterolateral corner surgery in October.
