Islamabad High Court (IHC) Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kayani lightened the mood in the court on Wednesday with a witty remark: “If judges cannot vote, then let us close the courts!”
The exchange occurred when a lawyer asked the court not to set the next hearing of a case for October 16, citing the SCBA elections scheduled for that day.
Smiling, Judge Kayani responded, “If it’s about lawyer elections, then tell them to close the courts,” adding humorously, “You don’t vote for judges anyway; maybe you should start doing that too.”
The comment sparked laughter among those present in the courtroom.
