Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) will decide a potential alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) after Eidul Fitr, the head of the Maulana Fazlur Rehman party, said Saturday on Saturday.
Speaking to journalists in Islamabad, Fazl confirmed that the Jui-F Advisory Council will deliberate about whether PTI will join in the launch of an anti-government movement.
He pointed out that while tensions with PTI have decreased, the party remains divided internally, with its key leaders, including founding president Imran Khan and vice president Shah Mahmood Qureshi, still after bars.
Chief Jui-F warned that unilateral political decisions could increase tensions in the country. He added that the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif could play a crucial role in the current political landscape.
Fazl also stressed the need for dialogue about Baluchistan and indicated that Jui-F could consider playing a role in matters related to Afghanistan if the State requests.
The PTI has been actively arriving at opposition leaders after Khan’s directive to build an anti -government alliance.
In January, a PTI delegation formally invited Fazl to join the opposition block, Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-E-Pakistan (TTAP). More recently, Asad Qaiser of PTI and Senator Jui-F Kamran Murtaza formed a committee to facilitate more discussions.
Despite these efforts, a formal working relationship is still difficult to achieve. JUI-F has transmitted its conditions and concerns to PTI.
