Prime Minister Shehbaz, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif among many politicians present; valid on sunday

Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, married Shanzeh Ali, granddaughter of PML-N leader Rohail Asghar, in a nikah ceremony held in Lahore on Saturday.
The nikah was solemnized by the sajjada nashin of the shrine of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani, while the president of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Mufti Raghib Hussain Naeemi, obtained the consent of the bride.
For the ceremony, Junaid Safdar wore an ivory sherwani paired with a gold-toned turban, while the bride wore a traditional pink outfit, accessorized with jewellery.

A large number of political leaders and family members attended the ceremony, including the groom’s parents, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif’s grandfather, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Hamza Shehbaz, Salman Shehbaz, Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz, senior PML-N leaders as well as several foreign guests.
The valima ceremony is scheduled for Sunday at Jati Umra Farms, where around 800 guests have been invited. Prime Minister Shehbaz, federal and provincial ministers, senior political figures and foreign guests are expected to attend the reception.

The mehndi ceremony was held on Friday at Jati Umra and was attended by close family members and guests. On the occasion, Junaid Safdar wore a deep navy blue traditional kurta with gold buttons, paired with a golden brown shawl draped over his shoulder.

It is worth noting that this is Junaid’s second marriage. He had previously married Ayesha Saif Khan in 2021 and the marriage ended in separation after two years, in 2023.
