Justin Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman called the legal battle with Blake Lively “far from” more than “after two lawsuits filed by the director were dismissed in court earlier this week.
The comment came during the lawyer’s interview in TMZ Live This Tuesday, when asked about Baldoni’s reaction to the verdict on Tuesday.
“What was Justin’s reaction to him? The same as my reaction to him, which is: it is not fair. It is not right. I think he is a person who wants to be claimed, and that is all that matters to him,” Fredman began.
Freedman added that “they were not pleased” with the decision of the Judge of June 9 to throw the accountant and that the legal battle between the two actors is “very far from finishing, we express it that way.”
“He knows who he is. He knows what he has done. He knows what he has not done. And he wants the truth to come out, and wants to do it in the appropriate way. He is waiting for his day in court, where he can talk to tell the truth.”
Freedman doubled his response to the sexual harassment of Lively and the complaints of retaliation against Baldoni and Wayfarer studies, saying that his accusations are “completely incorrect” and that Lively “fears the truth.”
“The truth will be shown through statements, which is what will be next,” he said, adding that he sent a notice to carry out Lively’s deposition at some time in June.
“We are going to advance with the case, and we will show that there was no sexual harassment, and we will show that there was no smear campaign. It is really so simple. It is unfortunate to be unjustly accused here,” said Freedman.
Freedman’s statement occurs after Lively’s lawyer Mike Gottlieb celebrated the victory in a June 9 interview in CNN.
“I think today is a message that this type of reprisal demands that are really designed to silence and punish the people who speak will not work. They will not work. They will not be tolerated by our justice system and will not succeed,” Gottlieb told the host Jake Tapper.
He added that the actress is “determined to see her statements and to pursue them to have a complete public responsibility of what she alleged that it happened.”
The comments occur after Judge Lewis J. Liman granted motions on June 9 to dismiss both the $ 400 million Baldoni counter against Lively and Reynolds and the defamation demand for $ 250 million against The New York Times for his coverage of Lively complaint in December 2024.
The Baldoni legal team has a June 23 deadline to amend the claims for breach of the implicit pact and tortuous interference with the contract.
