Islamabad: In the midst of a recent increase in terrorist attacks in the country, Pakistan has sought an explanation of Afghanistan with respect to the contact of terrorists involved in the attack of Jaffar Express with its managers in the territory of the latter, The news He reported Monday.
Although, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not issued any statement in this regard, the sources have said that the Charge d’Affires Sardar Ahmad Shekib of Taliban was called to the Foreign Ministry to present a strong protest and the use of the Afghan soil for the attacker attack.
The development occurs after the heartbreaking attack last week by the prohibited militants of the Baluchistan Liberation Army (Bla) that exploited the train tracks and kept more than 440 passengers as hostages in a confrontation of one day with security services in a remote mountain pass in the Bolan district.
The Army, after cleaning the train and rescuing the hostages, said it killed 33 attackers. Before the operation began, the terrorists had marked 26 passengers, while four security personnel were martyred during the operation.
The martyred train passengers included 18 army security personnel and the FC, three officials of Pakistan Railways and other departments and five civilians.
In statements to the media after the culmination of the operation of the Security Forces, the General Director of Public Relations between Services (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry revealed that the terrorists were in contact with their managers in Afghanistan.
“We have credible intelligence that confirms that the networks that orchestrate these attacks are operating from the other side of the border in Afghanistan,” said the military spokesman.
He also revealed that among those involved in the attack, there was a key figure that had previously served in the Afghan army and was now actively involved in terrorist activities against Pakistan.
The comments of Lieutenant Gen Chaudhry reflect the position of Islamabad, which has again urged Kabul to prevent its soil from being used by terrorist organizations against Pakistan, something that has been backed by statistics from a recent report of the 2025 global terrorism index.
The report not only highlighted the coincident increase in terrorist incidents in Pakistan and the return of the Afghan Taliban to power in Kabul, but also pointed out that the capitalization of Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) of greater operational freedom and access to safe fee in the neighboring country.
Meanwhile, during the interaction with Kabul’s envoy, Sardar Shekib, the diplomat was reminded that the Taliban had given an international guarantee that they would not allow the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan and the guarantee was given in the Doha Agreement, signed between the Afghan Taliban and the United States.
A Afghan CDA was told that the outfit that had been declared as a terrorist organization by the world body had used the Afghan soil for its atrocious acts.
It is pertinent to mention that Islamabad does not recognize the government in Kabul, but has allowed the presence of the Diplomatic Representative of the Taliban in Pakistan since they control Kabul.
A strong drafting resolution of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on the matter is a source of diplomatic satisfaction for Pakistan, since he mentioned the Bla and Majeed Brigade by name for acts of terrorism.
The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, is among the world leaders who condemned the incident.
With Pakistan expressing satisfaction for the international reaction and the broad condemnation of the kidnapping of trains, the sources say that the government was reflecting on thanking world leaders and countries that expressed solidarity with the country and a list could be issued in a couple of days.
