Amateur golfer Kai Trump was present at one of the sport’s major events this week. President Donald Trump’s granddaughter traveled to the historic Augusta National Golf Club, where she had the opportunity to see up close some of the best golfers in the world competing for the coveted Masters green jacket.
But Trump traveled to Georgia knowing that five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods would be absent. Woods was arrested after a rollover accident in Florida late last month. He later announced that he would not compete in this year’s Masters and was granted permission to seek treatment outside the US.
Trump’s mother, Vanessa, has been publicly romantically linked to Woods. Vanessa supported Woods amid the fallout from his arrest on DUI charges, writing “I love you” in a post on an Instagram Stories post, which featured a photo of the couple.

Trump, 18, shared highlights from his visit to Augusta National in a post on Instagram on Thursday, including a photo with LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau and his caddie, Greg Bodine.
“What a special place,” Kai, who will play college golf at Miami, wrote with a heart emoji.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office in Florida said Woods was traveling at a “high rate of speed” when his vehicle collided with another car, causing it to roll onto the driver’s side.
Authorities said Woods “exemplifies signs of deterioration.” He put “triple zeros” on alcohol, but refused to take a urine test.
“DUI investigators arrived on the scene here, and Mr. Woods exhibited signs of impairment. They ran several tests on him. Of course, he explained the injuries and surgeries he had. We took that into account, but they ran some in-depth roadside tests on him,” a sheriff’s department spokesperson said.

Woods pleaded not guilty to the DUI charges. Before his arrest, he indicated that he intended to play in this year’s Masters.
