Karachi is experiencing a notable drop in temperatures following the arrival of cold winds from Balochistan.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the cold wave will persist for the next few days, and the temperature could drop to single digits, Express News reported.

On Thursday morning, Karachi’s minimum temperature was recorded at 10.9°C, a decrease of 3.6°C compared to the previous day.

The city is under the influence of a western weather system, causing frigid winds to hit the region.

Earlier this week. Karachi is reported to experience a drop in temperatures as cold winds return later in the week, after a brief respite.

According to the PMD, cold winds are coming from the northeast and temperatures are expected to drop further.

Residents are advised to prepare for cold conditions as the cold snap is forecast to last for the next few days.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the recent change in weather patterns has resulted in relief in cold winds, causing a slight increase in the city’s minimum temperature, Express News reported.

The city today recorded a minimum temperature of 13.5°C, and fog reduced visibility to 1,200 meters.

However, the calm will be short-lived as a new weather system from the west enters the country, bringing cold winds from Balochistan.

These winds are expected to reach Karachi on January 24, causing temperatures to drop again.

Forecasters predict that the city’s minimum temperature could drop to 9°C as cold northeasterly winds begin to affect the coastal city.
