The first confirmed case of Monkeypox (MPOX) in SENDH has been reported in Karachi, sources from the Department of Health on Saturday revealed on Saturday.
According to the sources, a patient admitted to the Jinnah hospital was diagnosed with Monkeopox after his samples were sent to the Dow hospital for laboratory tests. The results confirmed the presence of the virus, so it is the first case verified in the province.
Health officials declared that the patient’s test results returned positive, added that his wife had a recent travel history abroad. Initially, she exhibited Monkeopox symptoms before her husband contracted the infection.
The patient, a 28 -year -old resident of the city of Shah Latif, Karachi, has been placed in an isolation room, and strict precautionary measures have been implemented to avoid greater propagation of the virus.
The authorities have urged the public to remain attentive and adhere to health patterns to stop the transmission of Monkeoypox in the region.
