Pakistan has restored flight operations on Lahore and Karachi after the airspace was suspended due to operational restrictions, according to a new Notam (notice to aviators) issued by the Pakistan civil aviation authority.

The closure of airspace continued increased safety alerts after Indian air attacks in the Pakistani territory. As a precautionary measure, flight operations stopped and airspace was temporarily closed to commercial traffic.

A CAA spokesman confirmed that affected air corridors are now completely open, and normal operations can be resumed. However, passengers are advised to keep in touch with their respective airlines, since programming and routing decisions remain at the discretion of carriers.

The security in the main airports, including Islamabad International, had been raised to the red alert state immediately after the strikes.

Airlines are expected to gradually restore services as the situation stabilizes.

Today early, Pakistan imposed a high security alert and flight operations suspended at several key airports on Wednesday morning after Indian air attacks in Pakistan, said Express News.

According to official sources, Islamabad’s International Airport was placed under the red alert state and its airspace was closed to all commercial air traffic. The abrupt movement interrupted flight operations, with three entrusted flights redirected to alternative airports.

The affected flights included a Qatar Airways service from Doha, a Saudi Arabia Airlines flight and one operated by a private carrier. These planes were diverted to airports in Peshawar and other nearby cities as a precautionary measure.

The sources suggest that emergency measures were initiated by fear of a possible hostile action by India. In Rawalpindi, the witnesses reported continuous patrols for the Pakistan Air Force aircraft and the strong sounds that echoed in the heavens.

Airports in Karachi, Lahore, fine, Faisalabad, Skardu and Peshawar were also placed on maximum alert, with emergency protocols activated by the country’s aviation infrastructure.
