KARACHI:
The first case of mpox this year has been reported in Karachi, according to hospital sources.
A 31-year-old man had traveled abroad in January to undergo a hair transplant. Upon his return, he was examined at the Karachi airport, where his symptoms raised suspicions of infection. He was immediately shifted to Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital for further evaluation.
At the hospital, the patient was admitted and underwent medical examinations and tests. Medical Superintendent Dr Waheed Rajput confirmed that the patient tested positive for mpox. However, after showing improvement, he was discharged two days later.
