Karachi: The Karachi Traffic Police has announced a detailed traffic diversion plan for the Central Chehlum procession of Hazrat imam Hussain scheduled for Friday (tomorrow).
According to a press release from the Office of the Deputy Police Inspector (Traffic) Karachi, the main procession will start from the Nishtar Park and, after following its traditional route, will conclude in Hussainia Iranian Imambargah.
Due to security concerns, Ma Jinnah Road will remain closed from Guru to send to the tower.
Alternative Routes – Central District:
Nazimabad traffic will deviate from Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road through a garden towards its destinations.
Liaquatabad traffic will turn right in Teen Hatti towards Lasbela Chowk or the left towards Martin Road (Central Prison).
Traffic from Hassan Square to PPP Chowrangi will pass under the high passage of the prison to Cashmira Road, Society Light Signal (Shahrah-E-Qaideen), and through the prison elevated to Teen Hatti and Nishtar Road (Lasbela Chowk).
Alternative Routes – Eastern District:
4. Shahrah-E-Fafaisal trafficking A Shahrah-E-Qaideen (Noorani Kebab) that goes to Numaish will turn right in Society Light Signal to Kashmir Road.
5. The traffic from Central Jail Gate (Jamshed Road) to Guru Mandir will be diverted from Guru Mandir through Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazaar.
Alternative Routes – South District:
6. The traffic from the garden zoo to Ma Jinnah Road will turn right on Uncle Sarya to Gul Plaza or went to the Coast Guard and the Holy Family Hospital.
Heavy traffic amusements:
All heavy/commercial vehicles from Super Highway or Gulberg to Ma Jinnah Road will be diverted from Liaquatabad No. 10 to Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2 through Habib Bank Flyover, Estate Avenue, Sher Shah to Mauripur, and vice versa for the return route.
Heavy/commercial vehicles from the National Highway to the city can use Shahrah-E-Fafaisal or Rashid Minhas Road, Stadium Road, Sir Shah Suleman Road, Hassan Square, Liaquatabad No. 10, Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, Habib Bank Flyover, Estate Avenue, Sher Shah to Mauripur, and returns by the same route.
Traffic will not be allowed, regardless of its size, on the procession route beyond the Guru Mandir Chowk, with deviations to Bahadur Yar Jang Road and Soldier Bazaar. The entrance to Ma Jinnah Road will only be allowed for vehicles with a procession sticker on the windshield, allowed the entrance through Shahrah-E-Qaideen of Society Light Signal.
Routes for procession participants:
From Nazimabad: Lasbela, Albela, right to the Jamaat Khana garden, Soldier Bazaar No. 3 Light Signal to Numaish.
From Liaquatabad: Teen Hatti, Jehangir Road, Guru send Numaish.

Of Gulistan-E-Johar/Gulshan-E-Iqbal: University Road, Old Sabzi Mandi, Cashmiro Road, Society Light Signal to Numaish.

These vehicles can enter the procession route from the OA tower through the exchange of the Lyari highway garden, Aga Khan III Road, Uncle Sarya, Nasra School, Capri Light Signal. They can also join through Bahadur Yar Jang Road.
Dig Karachi traffic emphasized that no vehicle can park along the procession route at any time.
