A water pipe burst at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Tuesday, causing flooding in the international departure lounge.
Water pooled in front of the immigration counters, disturbing passengers and staff.
According to the airport authority spokesperson, quick action was taken to identify the burst pipe and isolate the affected area by closing the isolation valve of a western section.
Airport staff used buckets and windshield wipers to remove the water and prevent it from spreading further.
Despite the unusual incident, airport operations were not affected.
The spokesperson confirmed that passenger movement continued without problems while technical teams carried out immediate repairs. The issue of water dripping from the ceiling in the domestic arrivals hall was also quickly resolved.
The airport authority thanked passengers for their cooperation during the incident and assured them that additional measures would be implemented to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
