Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has paid a heartbreaking tribute to the late singer on his first death anniversary.

The 26-year-old influencer, who had been dating the deceased an address student for two years before her death, took to her Instagram account on Thursday to share a touching note.

In the touching post, Cassidy also posted a black-and-white throwback of her and Payne lying in bed as the singer put his arm around her neck from behind and planted a kiss on her cheek.

For the uninitiated, Payne died last year after falling from a third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. He was 31 years old.

The late singer-songwriter is survived by his parents, his sisters Nicola and Ruth, his girlfriend Cassidy and his only son Bear, whom he shares with his ex Cheryl Cole.

On October 12, Cassidy reflected on the final “goodbye” and the last time she saw him alive.

Remembering the day she went home to the United States, leaving her boyfriend in Argentina, where they spent two weeks of quality time before her fatal fall.

“A year ago. Today, October 12, was the last day I spent with Liam,” he said in a video posted on his social networks.

The last day I was with Liam in Argentina before I left, the car was in the driveway. I was sitting on the couch expressing to him how much I’m going to miss him, how much I love him. “Honestly, it’s so strange looking back on it because it was such a long, heartfelt goodbye,” Cassidy continued.

Her voice broke and she added: “He looked at me and said, ‘Kaitlin, you’re going to miss your flight, you’re acting like this is the last time you’ll see me again.'”

She concluded the video with a message that read, “Just remember that you never know what tomorrow will bring and tell your loved ones that you love them. Hold them a little tighter today. Bye guys.”
