Kazakh President Tokayev to visit Pakistan on February 3-4


He will hold talks with President Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz; will speak at the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will pay his first official state visit to Pakistan from February 3 to 4 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement on X, said: “During the visit, President Tokayev is expected to meet the President of Pakistan, hold talks with the Prime Minister and address the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum.”

The president will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, consisting of senior cabinet ministers and other high-ranking officials, the statement said.

“The visit will provide both sides with an important and timely opportunity to undertake a comprehensive review of bilateral relations, discuss new avenues for expanding cooperation, particularly in trade, logistics, regional connectivity, people-to-people contacts and explore collaboration in regional and international forums.”

The statement said the visit reflects the strengthening of ties between the two countries, their mutual commitment to transform historical and cultural affinities into solid cooperation and their common desire for peace and progress in the region.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will also visit Pakistan on February 5 and 6.

According to Uzbekistan Uza Mirziyoyev’s visit to Pakistan and high-level talks in Islamabad will take place against the backdrop of an unprecedented intensification of bilateral political dialogue.

“The talks are aimed at the practical implementation of a key economic goal: increasing the volume of mutual trade to 2 billion dollars in the coming years. The central element of the agenda will be the structural transformation of economic cooperation,” the report says.

Uza It also quoted the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan as saying that the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Business Forum and “Made in Uzbekistan” Exhibition will be held in Islamabad on February 5 and 6.
