Balakot:
In anticipation of the increase in water flow during the monsoon season, the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) has launched efforts to eliminate dry patches in the middle of the Kunhar River, areas where tourists often gather for photography and picnics.
Tourists have been advised to maintain a safe distance from the river. During a visit to Naran, the general director of the KDA, Shabbir Khan, issued more instructions to the staff to guarantee tourism security.
According to officials, patrol teams are working in vulnerable places in the Kaghan Valley to urge tourists to stay away from the banks of the river.
Due to the increase in water levels in the Kunhar River, community rangers and tourism police have been deployed at multiple points to restrict access to the river.
Technical teams have begun to eliminate accessible dry patches along the Orange-ácokhad road to prevent tourists from using them.
These areas, although picturesque, pose serious safety risks during the sudden waves of the rivers caused by the rains of the monsoon.
The main secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah has instructed DG Shabbir Khan to monitor the key points along the river. Patrol teams have also received instructions to inform visitors of the dangers raised by seasonal floods and to enforce safe behavior near the river.
