Keith Urban reportedly accepted a gig on a cruise ship to help cover costs following his high-profile divorce from Nicole Kidman — the kind of booking, sources say, he never would have considered during their 19-year marriage.
The country star performed on the Top Shelf Country Cruise, which sailed from Florida to the Bahamas between February 27 and March 6.
An informant said new idea that the concert was largely a practical decision.
“Cruising isn’t exactly a dream job, but it pays the bills and gives Keith something to focus on,” the source said.
“It’s the kind of job Keith would have turned down during his marriage to Nicole Kidman. He’s trying to keep busy now that his divorce is final.”
Urban, 58, has a net worth of $75 million, but those close to him have suggested that divorce lawyer fees may have put a dent in his cash flow.
Given that Kidman’s reported net worth is $250 million, the financial risks of the split were considerable.
“When there’s that much money involved in a split, lawyers aren’t cheap regardless of the outcome,” the source explained, adding that, in the meantime, smaller hires help keep things moving.
However, in the longer term, the outlook is said to be more positive.
Urban is reportedly working on “exciting plans” for the second half of 2026, and the source says he “has every intention of ending 2026 exactly the opposite of how it started, at a full high.”
Page six confirmed in September that Urban and Kidman had split after nearly two decades together.
Kidman filed for divorce the day after the news broke, citing irreconcilable differences.
The divorce was finalized in January and both parties waived their rights to child and spousal support.
Kidman was approved as the primary residential parent for her two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Kidman has spoken briefly about the situation, telling Variety earlier this month: “We are a family and that is what we will continue to be.”
