Kendall Jenner has finally addressed years of online speculation about her sexuality, directly responding to persistent rumors that she is secretly lesbian.
In a candid appearance at the in your dreams On the Jan. 9 podcast, the 30-year-old supermodel made it clear where she stands, while also talking about the broader tone and impact of internet gossip.
Jenner did not identify as gay during the interview and clearly stated that “as of today, I am not.”
She went on to explain that, knowing herself, she believes she would have come out by now if that had been her truth.
“I understand that coming out is not an easy thing for anyone, if not most people,” he said, “and I’m not saying it’s an easy thing, but knowing… I think at this point in my life I would be out of the closet if it was.”
Jenner added that she would have no problem living openly if that were her.
While she firmly denied the rumors, Jenner also spoke out about the hurtful way online speculation has played out.
She noted that many of the comments are not supportive or kind, but cruel, often implying that she is hiding something or suggesting that her sexuality might be “bad for business,” a theory she said she does not understand.
