Kensington Palace refuses to comment as Princess Kate gets caught up in AI scandal

Prince William and Princess Kate’s office refuses to comment on latest scandal

Prince William and Princess Kate’s office is silent on a new AI scandal.

Images falsely depicting the Princess of Wales in minimal clothing were reportedly generated using Grok, an artificial intelligence chatbot connected to Elon Musk’s X social media platform, prompting regulatory scrutiny in the UK.

Controversy erupted after users discovered that the artificial intelligence tool could manipulate real, publicly available photographs to produce realistic-looking images of women naked or placed in sexualized scenarios. Catherine is reportedly among thousands of women and children affected, intensifying concerns about the growing misuse of artificial intelligence.

UK media regulator Ofcom has since confirmed that it is assessing whether the platform complies with online safety laws. An Ofcom spokesperson said the watchdog had made “urgent contact” with X and its artificial intelligence arm, xAI.

“Tackling illegal online harm and protecting children remain urgent priorities for Ofcom,” the spokesperson said. “We are aware of the serious concerns raised by a Grok feature in X that produces images of naked people and sexualized images of children.”

“Based on your response, we will conduct a rapid assessment to determine if there are potential compliance issues that warrant an investigation,” the statement added.

Kensington Palace declined to comment when approached, according to uk express.
