King Charles’ two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, found themselves in a new conundrum as the estranged brothers appeared to have quietly reached an agreement.
The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex previously had a major clash of events, which many royal experts believed was Harry’s attempt to steal the spotlight from his brother.
William’s fifth Earthshot Award ceremony took place on November 5, something that was planned months in advance, and just days before the event, Harry announced his visit to Canada. He had met with members of the royal regiments, which supposedly required some form of approval from the Palace since Harry was no longer a working royal.
Harry’s team had claimed the Palace was informed beforehand “as a courtesy”, but a Palace source said The times that no such note was received.
Another clash of events took place on December 1, as both William and Harry were due to give a keynote speech for their respective events. Kensington Palace shared a message from William while there was radio silence from Harry’s team.
“Celebrating business and the Welsh economy!” the message begins. “From world-class microchip engineering at KLA in Newport to the Wales Investment Summit, we are proud to shine a light on the best of Welsh industry and Wales’ position as a leading destination for domestic and international investors.”
William addressed the Welsh International Convention Center on Monday, which had been the largest international meeting in Wales since hosting NATO leaders 11 years ago in Wales.
The future king described Wales as a “place where cutting-edge technology, research, innovation and a skilled workforce come together in a single, coherent ecosystem across many different industries.” He said: “I am honored to play my part in defending the dynamic nation that Wales is today as we look to the future.”
Meanwhile, Harry reportedly gave a speech at the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) Power House in Toronto. No update has been made from Montecito. It could have been a way to make up for the lack of communication that took place earlier.
