Kevin Durant will play for his fifth NBA team at the end of this year. The 2014 Liga MVP officially became a member of the Houston Rockets during the weekend when the first exchange of seven NBA teams was completed.
On Sunday, Durant took a moment to look back in his time with the Suns, while he also looked at his new chapter in Houston. “A lot of love for Arizona. Houston, I can’t wait!” An X publication concluded during the weekend.
However, during a recent sincere discussion with his former coach Steve Nash, Durant seemed further back while arguing some of the ups and downs of his period with the Brooklyn Nets.

“We had this conversation in Portland, I think, just before a game, and I say: ‘Who am I spending my next five years?'” Durant said during a recent edition of LeBron James and Nash co-organized “Mind the game” Podcast.
“I had just signed that agreement. You (Steve Nash) had just signed an agreement. But I feel we were sure, but everything else around us was going on —. Not in a bad way. We have GM to other teams. We have trainers who went to other teams. They saw the players that we force the players. We bring Ben Simmons. As is. We intervened Ben Simmons.

Durant added that while he was on the same page with Nash, there were other factors that contributed to an atmosphere of dysfunction.
“I feel we were locked on the same page and we understood, well, we tried to do something special here,” Durant said. “But I felt that your hands were very tied because you had to do it, as a coach that you have to deal with so much.”
Nash recognized Durant’s point by admitting: “I couldn’t train as much as I wanted.”
Durant replied suggesting that he was stolen from Nash’s best version as a coach.

“That’s what it was. I think we didn’t get the complete Steve Nash as I wanted … As you probably wanted. I felt that there were too many distractions on the road, and you know, you can’t win that way,” Durant said.
While Durant summed up his period with Nets as “Weird,” he spoke brilliantly about his experience playing for the franchise.

“That first year, man, the most fun ball I had. Some of the funniest balls I had playing my whole life,” he said. “I enjoyed it. I enjoyed Brooklyn.
