A witness who had chosen the alleged murderer of a Miami football player out of one alignment was several times dead.
However, last month, ESPN reporters found Paul Conner, 81, alive at home in Louisville.
Conner lived in the same apartment complex that Bryan Pata, a leading football from Miami who was killed on November 7, 2006. He testified that he saw a man “jog” after hearing a strong “pop” in the complex.

That man was Rashaun Jones, who has been in custody for four years waiting for the trial for the murder of Pata.
The prosecutors told a Florida judge as recently as Julio that Conner was dead, trusting in that belief of a public database that “seemed to indicate” that Conner was not alive.
“Is there an impact of that in the case? I would have to say yes, potentially,” said spokesman Ed Griffith, to ESPN.

The members of the hurricanes of that year said that Pata and Jones did not get along, and Jones owned a weapon similar to the weapon that is believed to be used to kill Pata, who was projected that it would be selected in the NFL draft of the following year.
