Khawaja Asif warns about nuclear risk amid Pakistan-India conflict

The Minister of Defense, Khawaja Asif, has issued a clear warning that the increase in tensions with India could push the region dangerously close to the nuclear conflict, since Islamabad extends from a deadly cross -border assault that has described a “act of flagrant war.”

In an interview with Geographical news On Wednesday, Asif warned that the risk of climbing was “very real”, following the air attacks of India about Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir earlier in the morning.

The coordinated attacks attacked at least six sites, including mosques and infrastructure projects, killing 31 civilians and wounding at least 71, according to public relations between services (ISPR).

“This region has faced nuclear threats before, and we could go to another strategic confrontation,” said the minister. “India is going through an important internal crisis, and its aggression is putting the peace and security of the entire region at stake.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also addressed the situation in the National Assembly, condemning what he described as the “assault without Indian spines at night.” He praised the armed forces for his rapid and decisive reprisals. “With the help of Allah and the prayers of our people, our army gave an adequate response,” he said.

In a significant military development, the armed forces of Pakistan knocked down five Indian combat aircraft on retaliation strikes. According to the ISPR, the fallen plane included three raffles, a Su-30mki and a MiG-29. In addition, according to reports, Pakistan destroyed a headquarters of the Indian Brigade, multiple control stalls and a drone.

The general director ISPR LT Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that all the aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) returned safely after involving Indian objectives. He added that the intense bombing continued along the control line, where Pakistani troops were actively attacking Indian military positions.
