The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government announced Thursday that emergency alert sirens will be installed in 29 districts to mitigate the risks to civilians in case of possible aerial threats, after the recent climbs with India, Associated Press of Pakistan (app) reported.

The tensions between the two nations have increased since the deadly attack of April 22 in Pahalgam, they occupied Kashmira, who killed 26 people, mostly tourists. India has hinted at cross -border participation without evidence, while Pakistan has strongly rejected the accusation and has asked for independent investigation.

According to the report, the mermaids will be installed in high -risk areas to provide real -time alerts, allowing citizens to take precautions in case of aerial threats. A notification of the KP Civil Defense Directorate advised citizens to seek refuge immediately after listening to a siren and prioritizing the safety of children, women and the elderly.

District administrations have had the task of guaranteeing the appropriate installation and maintenance of sirens. The affected districts include Peshawar, Abbottabad, Mardan, Kohat, Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu and others.

The public has been urged to refrain from disseminating rumors or misuse of sirens, since the measure is destined to safeguard lives and properties in times of possible conflicts.
