King avoids the accident in the sporting event


On Thursday, King Felipe VI of Spain had a Spanish naval ship on board on Thursday when a heavy navigation team fell only centimeters from him during preparations for an important regatta, according to reports from local and British media.

The 57 -year -old monarch was aboard the Aifos with Admiral Jaime Rodríguez Toubes and the crew, preparing for the prestigious navigation competition of the Copa del Rey Mapfre, when the incident occurred around 11:30 am

When Felipe examined his backpack on the deck, a candle and his boom suddenly crashed near him, missing him by little.

The dramatic moment was captured in video and shared by the Spanish Vanitatis store, which shows the members of the crew audibably panting while Felipe remained composed.

Without expressing alarm, the king briefly looked up to evaluate the situation, then calmly resumed his preparations.

Felipe has been a lifelong navigation enthusiast, competing since the age of 16 and serving in the Spanish Navy during his youth. Since he became a monarch in 2014, he also held the honorary title of the Captain General.

Aifos is not expected, which assured second place last year, exceeds the classification in 2024, although Felipe remains optimistic, according to Vanitatis.

His eldest daughter, Princess Leonor, recently ascended to Second Degree Guardiamarina, joined him in the regatta. His younger sister, Infanta Sofia, did not attend.

Earlier this week, both royal sisters were seen with Prince William and Princess Charlotte in the Women’s UEFA final.
