Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, will host a special birthday party from King Charles and Queen Camilla at Clarence House, a former butler has revealed.
According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, the King and Queen would go to great lengths to make the day memorable for Sophie a day after posting lovely photos of her on their official Instagram account.
Harrold, who worked for King Charles from 2004 to 2011, revealed that Prince Edward would also make sure his wife felt “special” on her big day when she turned 60.
“Sophie really doesn’t like any fuss and is very humble,” he said of Sophie, while speaking to Real insider information. “She is very dedicated to her work, to her husband, to her family and was very dedicated to the late queen.”
“She is very devoted to her brother-in-law now,” Harrold continued. “I have no doubt that the king will plan a birthday party for her, probably at Clarence House, with as many royals there as possible.”
“Sophie is a really lovely person, very loved and respected within the family and among the public. I’m sure she will also have private celebrations with her own family.
“Everyone will worry about her.”
The former royal butler further revealed that Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, “will make sure she feels very special and it is a real milestone for her.”
“It’s actually hard to believe he’s 60 because he looks so good,” he said before concluding.
