King Charles, Prince William and Harry’s childhood secrets revealed in new video

It wouldn’t be wrong to call King Charles’s beloved Highgrove estate, Gloucestershire, a horticultural paradise.

King Charles may have many secrets, but some of them have a very pleasant surprise for royal fans.

In a new video, posted to Highgrove Garden’s Instagram feed on Tuesday, the glorious garden reveals some secrets of King Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Charles loved his Gloucestershire estate, Highgrove, and one of its highlights was its award-winning garden. It is a labyrinth of wonders with many surprises along the way.

The stunning clips also revealed childhood secrets of the two royal brothers, Prince William and Prince Harry.

The video shows William and Harry’s thatched treehouse, which was built for William’s seventh birthday in 1989 and is affectionately named Hollyrood after Holyrood House.

Other highlights included a temple, a serene water fountain and many perfectly manicured hedges. One of the less visible features was a wall with stone heads perched on top.

In an archive post, shared in 2018, the Highgrove team explained the meaning behind these head and shoulders sculptures.

The post said: “Something you may not know about Highgrove #Royal #Gardens is that numerous busts of people who have influenced the life of the Prince of Wales, from famous composers to environmental activists, are placed there in a display known as the ‘Wall of the Worthy’.”

Elsewhere in the garden, there is a life-size tribute to his beloved dog, Tigga, who died in 2002.

The dog was put down at the age of 18 after suffering the effects of old age, and the monarch was said to be “very sad” about it. The King, who at the time was Prince of Wales, commissioned an artist to create a sculpture of his dog for his garden.
