Kirk Cousins is in the mandatory mini -family of Atlanta Falcons this week despite asking for an exchange earlier this low season.
Cousins, who is in the second year of his four -year contract and $ 180 million that he signed with Atlanta in the past season, lost his position as a fold field before the rookie Michael Penix Jr. with three weeks remaining in 2024.
The moving of the chief coach Raheem Morris to go with her rookie brought a great question this low season: where are the Falcons in Quarterback in 2025?

Cousins went to his future with the team just a few weeks from the training camp, and after no exchange was reduced, he expects another probable year in Atlanta.
“We are advancing, and it’s about how we, as a team and as a field marshal, we can be the best we can be in 2025,” Cousins told reporters, according to CBS Sports.
Falcons says that Kirk Cousins who participated in the low season volunteer program was not surprising, despite commercial rumors
Falcons can still exchange cousins, but their words show that you are ready to compete with Penix for the initial role once again. But what was considered a mentoring relationship between the two in the training camp last season will be very different this time.
It was clear that Morris and the coaching staff did not trust Cousins towards the end of the season, but Penix also did not surprise anyone to the point that the head of the Falcons should be considered that entered the camp.
He had a 58.1% completion rate in his three openings while launching three touchdowns and three interceptions about those games. And three games is a cup of coffee compared to what Cousins has been able to do in the League in the last 13 years.

Cousins left a torn Achilles that he suffered with the Minnesota Vikings in his 2023 campaign. He put a brake on what he could do with the franchise between 2020 and 22, launching for more than 4,200 yards in each of those three seasons, and obtained two Pro Bowl settlements in 2021 and 2022.
But he led the NFL in interceptions in 2024 (16) while only launched 18 touchdowns in 14 openings. The Falcons were 7-7 during that time, while Cousins launched for 3,508 yards.
If Penix is the way Atlanta is thinking in terms of a titular field marshal, then paying his support $ 27.5 million would be less than ideal. That said, the Falcons would probably be proactive to move cousins so as not to have that lid hit in the books.

That is easier to say it than doing it, but perhaps an injury that ends the season for another team during the year could cause a fast exchange.
For now, however, Cousins focuses on helping the hawks, regardless of what role is that.
