KP announces summer vacation dates for schools

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced the summer vacation calendar for government and private schools throughout the province.

According to a notification issued by the Department of Education of KP, summer holidays for schools in the summer zone (plain areas) will be observed from June 1 to August 31 for primary schools.

For intermediate, high and superior secondary schools, summer holidays will begin on June 15 and continue until August 31. The notification also declared that in the winter area, schools will observe the summer vacations from July 1 to 31.

This schedule applies uniformly to government and private educational institutions that operate in the respective KP areas.

A day before, the Punjab government had announced that summer holidays in all schools throughout the province would begin on May 28. According to a statement by the Minister of Education of Punjab, Rana Sikandar Hayat, the decision was made in view of the severe heat wave.

In addition to vacation schedule, the school times reviewed have also been announced to protect students from the extreme weather.
