In the wake of the Bagan incident, while holding the local community responsible for violating the Kurram Peace Agreement, the provincial government has decided to place rewards on the heads of those responsible, promising not to show any leniency.

A statement issued from the Chief Minister House in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa revealed that a high-level emergency meeting was convened late in the night under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. The meeting was attended by the chief secretary, inspector general of police and other senior officials.

The statement noted that the situation following the Bagan incident, which involved shooting at the Kurram deputy commissioner and security personnel, was thoroughly reviewed. The authorities took serious note of the attack and the failure of local residents to comply with the peace agreement.

During the meeting a decision was taken that the local community, having signed a peace agreement, is responsible for the violation as it was resolved that those involved in the shooting incident should be immediately arrested and charged with an FIR.

Furthermore, provincial officials decided to place bounties on the heads of the terrorists involved in the attack, promising to eliminate them ruthlessly and would show no leniency towards the terrorists or their supporters.

Earlier, unknown assailants opened fire on official vehicles in Lower Kurram, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, injuring Kurram District Deputy Commissioner Javed Allah Mehsud.

The attack took place in the Baggan area and a police officer was also injured.

Mehsud was immediately rushed to Lower Ali Zai Hospital, where he was declared stable.

Local authorities have confirmed arrangements to transport him by air to Peshawar for advanced medical treatment. Investigations continue as officials work to identify the attackers behind the incident.
