The Higher Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to implement a ranking system in all universities and colleges.

An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Higher Education Minister Meena Khan Afridi in which detailed information on the ranking criteria for universities and colleges was given.

The main goal of this classification system is to provide students with greater access to quality education. Minister Afridi emphasized that the introduction of this system will significantly improve educational standards in the region.

He directed relevant authorities to collect data for the last three years to rank institutions based on their performance.

Previously, despite the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s focus on education and health, millions of children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) remain out of school, particularly in tribal districts where Girls are often neglected.

Issues such as the lack of functional schools due to terrorism or natural disasters further exacerbate the problem.

Although the education budget has increased, KP continues to face financial difficulties in schools and universities, with teachers protesting for better conditions.

Experts emphasize the need for infrastructural improvements and reforms to ensure access to quality education for all children, especially girls.

Despite increased budget allocations, the government’s commitment to addressing the education crisis remains in doubt.
