Peshawar:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed a strong increase in terrorist incidents, with 605 cases reported during the first eight months of this year, leaving 138 civilians dead and 352 injured.
According to figures from the Central Police Office (CPO), 351 alleged terrorists were appointed in cases related to terrorism during this period. Security operations led to the murder of 32 terrorists and the arrest of another five.
The data also reveal that the province’s police force has given a high cost, with 79 martyred personnel and 130 injured in several attacks.
In August alone, 129 terrorist incidents were reported throughout the province. These attacks charged the life of 17 civilians and left 51 injured. During the same month, 186 suspects were identified, while eight terrorists were killed in meetings. The breakdown in terms of the district shows that Bannu registered the largest number of attacks in August with 42 incidents.
