PESHAWAR:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has collected Rs 23.26 billion in service sales tax during the first six months (July to December) of the fiscal year 2025-26, registering a 30 per cent increase compared to Rs 17.92 billion collected in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
According to figures released by KPRA’s media wing on Thursday, an additional Rs 5.34 billion was recorded in services sales tax, reflecting the expansion of the tax net and better enforcement and planning across the province’s service sector.
Overall, KPRA collected total revenue of Rs 26.62 billion during the first half of the current fiscal year, including Rs 23.26 billion from service sales tax and Rs 3.36 billion from infrastructure development tax (IDC). In comparison, total revenue during the same period last year stood at Rs 23.81 billion, of which Rs 17.92 billion came from service sales tax and Rs 5.89 billion from IDC.
KPRA Director General Fouzia Iqbal praised the performance of the officials and staff of the authority and stated that the significant growth of service sales tax was a result of effective planning, enforcement measures and tireless efforts of KPRA officials.
“The notable increase in service sales tax reflects the strong strategy, hard work and professional competence of the team. With the same commitment and organized approach, KPRA has all the potential to achieve its objectives for the current fiscal year,” he said.
The Director General also expressed his gratitude to the contributors for their trust, cooperation and partnership, noting that their support played a vital role in KPRA’s achievements. He further acknowledged the guidance and support of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Chief Minister’s Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam and termed their leadership as crucial in implementing reforms and improving revenue collection in the province.
