The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided, for the first time in the province, to provide cyber exploration and PET (positron emission tomography) for cancer patients.
Cybernetic Robotic Radiocirugia and Pet/CT scanning services will be available in the Hayatabad medical complex in Peshawar.
“The cybernetic system is a non -invasive treatment for cancerous and non -cancerous tumors and other conditions where radiotherapy is indicated. Due to the absence of PET exploration facilities in KP, cancer patients had previously been forced to seek treatment in Karachi and other provinces. The proposals of the companies for the project have already been requested,” said the advisor at Health Ehtesham Ali.
“The cybernetic system will provide non -surgical and highly precise radiocirugia for complex and inoperable tumors, said Ehtesham Ali. The PET/CT exploration will allow a timely diagnosis of cancer, precise staging and proper planning of patient treatment,” said the health advisor.

The availability of such medical facilities would allow KP residents to be diagnosed and treated in Peshawar, while people previously had to travel to other cities such as Lahore and Karachi to search for cancer treatment facilities.
“It will help place KP as a leader in modern oncology within Pakistan cancer patients, since patients will no longer need to travel to other cities for diagnosis and treatment.”
“This historical step marks a new era in the treatment of cancer in the province and will fill a long -standing vacuum.”
More than 11,700 new cases of cancer are reported annually in the province of KP, which makes this installation a timely and wild initiative.
Medical care specialists revealed in the event organized by the Pakistan Medical Oncology Society (SMOP) last month that only 3% of patients in the country are identified at an early and curable stage.
“This installation will not only offer advanced treatment to patients, but will also serve as a center for medical research, training and capabilities development. This initiative will help reduce financial and psychological load for patients and their families. This is a historical advance that will save innumerable lives,” concluded Ehtesham Ali.
