
Larry Lamb has officially called Time in his career as an actor with the end of BBC sitcom Gavin and Stacey.
The last episode of Ever of Gavin and Stacey transmitted in 2024 as a Christmas special, which was also the BBC The return of the situation comedy to the screens 14 years after the original end of the program.
“You involve these characters that become your favorite at that time, they are the focus of your life,” the actor told The Daily Mail.
“But to end in my 70s playing a character like Mick that is loved by millions of people, you have to give credit to writers … at this stage of my career, Mick is the closest to my heart.”
He Eastenders Alumin, 76, also made a trip through the memory lane when he confirmed his retirement of acting.
“I have had a very lucky career; I have made it so much that I am really proud of that, maybe not so many people,” he reflected.
“I have worked at Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Theater, I have been in 12 West End shows, I have made all the main cinemas in London, in Broadway, I have been very lucky and now I am very happy to let someone else play the great roles.”
He concluded: “I find that it is a reward, it is better to be known than unknown in what is concerned. Particularly if you are known as a character that people really love … what a way to finish your working life.”
