Rawalpindi:
The district lawyers association observed a full strike on Monday, boycotting judicial procedures in protest against the alleged assault, abuse and false FIR against former Bar Malik Tajammul Awan and main lawyer and the main lawyer Chaudhry Rizwan Elahi for Transit Police staff.
During the bar meeting, lawyers unanimously approved a resolution to prohibit the entry of traffic guards and traffic police officers into the district court complex.
The president and secretary of the Bar Association warned about strong repercussions if the case of “false and reprisals” against lawyers does not withdraw and no measures are taken against the responsible traffic guards.
They also asked that the city traffic officer (CTO) be forbidden to enter the courts of the Court, declaring that the misconduct of the Traffic Police will no longer be tolerated.
Law Secretary, Malik Asad Mahmood, declared that no law allows traffic guardians to act violently or abusively, adding: “This issue will not be treated as routine. Strict measures against the responsible director must be taken.”
A resolution that condemns the behavior of the buyer involved was also approved. As part of the strike, lawyers did not appear in any judicial procedure, which gave the judicial activity to the district, civil, family and special courts.
